Hitachi added 32-, 37- and 42-inch models to its high-definition TV Wooo UT Series. The new models are 35mm in thickness, excluding the frame.
Integrating XCodeHD, a high-definition recording technology from Canada’s ViXS Systems, the 250GB (gigabyte) hard drive built into the tuner enables recording of high-definition video for about 50 hours.
The new series also features enhanced network support, allowing viewers to access a variety of content via the broadband Internet.
“acTVila” is a TV-based network service that enables viewers to access not only text information and photos but video content by connecting the TV set to the broadband network.
The “Net” button on the remote controller provides easy access to Wooonet, Hitachi’s proprietary portal site, and viewers can upload the videos and photos they shot using Video de Mail, a mail service available on the site.
The panels of the three UT Series LCD TVs have a product lifecycle of about 60,000 hours. Hitachi managed to reduce use of their materials and packaging materials by more than 10% compared to their predecessors, making energy conservation and ecological consideration the products’ unique features. The new TVs also achieve 38% reduction in annual power consumption.
The three new models will go on sale on June 7.
