The Spanish furniture company Tagar are in luck, as the architect and designer Manuel Torres Acemel, his Studio Manuel Torres Design, has created a very special chair for his collection. Singular Chair is called. and the idea is to bring style and functionality in a fully contemporary element.
The “father of the creature,” explained to the media through a press release: “this Chair is intended for those who see the beauty and simplicity as a way of life”. And he also added: “our main concern was to achieve a piece with design, quality and innovation“.
It is, as you can see in the pictures, of a chair where the light curves and little pronounced have the prominence of exception. Manuel Torres has achieved a fully harmonious, comfortable and aesthetic design at the same time, which is also stackable; something that small current houses appreciate greatly. The Chair will be presented by Manuel Torres Design at the Salone del Mobile of Milan 2013, at the stand of the firm; the event will take place between 9 and 14 April. According to the study’s design, the imprint of the creator of the Singular Chair “is reflected in every angle of the piece, soft but with the strength and the hallmark of the designer. Once more the challenge of making an object that performs its function, is comfortable, flawless finish and surprising and innovative design that is fulfilled in the final result”.
The structure of the Chair consists of several metal rods that criss-cross forming a support both delicate and solid. On them, the backup (that occurs in many different finishes) bends and extends over the sides to support the seat. This set can be made of different materials (steel, wood or upholstered). The joints are perfectly visible, giving the design an incontestable industrial charm. Singular Chair comes in many colors, so there is the possibility of choosing between four hundred ninety (more or less) possible combinations.
