Saruyama, a Modern Contemporary Sofa by KITA
This modern contemporary sofa was build by mean shaping of islands that spread across the sea, These are fascinating sofas, each with their own unique style and design. The saruyama sofa set was designed by toshiyuki kita for moroso in 1989.
Theres two design of Saruyama:
“These sofas were designed based on the thinking that, even if living environments change, basic human movements such as sitting and lying down remain unchanged. It’s possible to sit, lie down, find one’s own place, and climb. which they resemble, and are divided into three unchangeable shapes but can be put together to form one large round sofa”.
The Saruyama “Mountain”, come in 2 different color, red and grey.
- The Saruyama “Island”.
The Saruyama Island Modern sofa comes as a set of 3 different sofas which fit together to make a circular seating arrangement.
“With Saruyama Islands Kita develops and expands the design, combining with the first an “archipelago” of independent islands made up of small seats, a chaise longue and small tables that can live together or independently of each other, at the same time maintaining unchanged the organic aesthetic features and function inherent in the initial design”.
From my point of view the Saruyama Island would be fit the most for your modern house interior, it has more catch of a modern sofa, will fit in your living room or even your bedroom, while the saruyama mountain kind bit suite for public area and open spaces. Nevertheles if you have the imagination it will fit everywhere.
