Mahia series is Modern Office Furniture Sets, a first collaboration between Aitor García de Vicuña (AGV Studio) and Portuguese manufacturer Famo. Mahia includes everything needed to cover operational and directional positions, the much needed functionality in the workplace as well as benches, walls, technical, meeting or reception.

Office table (200 x 90 x 72 cm)

In the designer’s own words:

“When considering a project like this, a complete set of equipment for work spaces and offices, several concepts must be clear. The first is that the briefing be logical, clearly setting out consensus and market needs and requirements to be met by the product.

The second, and not least, is the formal and aesthetic appearance. Own If we apply a dose of honesty and one part passion, you can reach the highest order: to achieve a useful product that excites, durable and timeless.

Technical Wall and Workstation (360 x 45 x 105 cm)

Reception Table

When you create a product in a responsible and ethical (task shared by the manufacturer and designer), the result is honest with the market, with the customer, with the wearer making their use more humane and more beautiful, and the environment.
Bench (360 x 120 x 72 cm)

At the time to reflect on the Mahia relationship with the environment were taken into account three factors:

The first is that in his own view should not appear toxic or polluting materials such as plastics little recyclable aluminum, chrome-based paints that were not water or stainless steel, which though in itself is not very toxic, you need a number very important for energy production.

For this reason we chose the cold rolled steel, mechanically transformed by the manufacturer. The only coating that is recommended is the epoxy-polyester powder. Steel has an impact of a third party with respect to aluminum and a quarter compared to steel. Other materials used are natural wood and laminated particle board with melamine, which can be recycled.

Technical Wall (320 x 450 x 105 cm)

The second factor is in the design. It calls for the elimination of superfluous elements and ornamental, and functional parts are removed and mechanisms that are not strictly necessary.

We opted for a mix of functions and create elements resulting from the union of other elements (eg. The technical wall) storage elements are added, will include solutions to hide the cables, and parts to separate areas . Thus it is necessary to prepare an object for each function. If you do not make unnecessary items, no pollution.

Front Reception Curve

Finally, there is the need to dial in the submission guidelines. The presentation of a product in storage media is more important in selling end of what at first may seem.

It is shown that if the advertising campaign is done in color, just selling a very high percentage on that tone. If the advertising campaign is mostly blank, eventually selling over blank white surfaces and the more you have in an interior space will require less electricity to illuminate, as white reflects light.

Workstation (180 x 80 x 72 cm)

In conclusion, we can and we must keep working, day after day in search for new visions, new ideas, concepts or thoughts, which applied to new designs, to preserve the planet we leave to our children. “
