Liquid wood furniture

Yes, you read that right. When we think that everything is invented, always something new to surprise us and let us literally speechless. In the Milan Furniture Fair this year 2012 have been many innovative proposals from design firms and interior furniture, and among them are shining examples of liquid wood furniture.
Because of its versatility, its beauty and strength, the wood has been for millennia the basic material for making furniture. However, in recent times other materials such as plastic (and considerations for environmental sustainability) has begun to displace its use.
Thus, combining the characteristics of both materials and always with an eye toward the environment, this year there has been liquid timber, a new material created using bamboo, hemp, cane and rattan. In the Hall of Milan had pieces created with this material (in whole or in part), as this elegant chair whose seat is liquid wood legs green fluorine resin.
The material is made from recycled wood pulp obtained from the plants mentioned in the previous paragraph, mixed with other natural fibers and fish oils. With these ingredients, which seem taken from medieval magic formula, performing a mixture that is compressed, heated and fused ends to obtain a uniform, durable, strong and free from toxic. That is, the perfect alternative to petroleum-based plastics.
Under pressure and heat, resulting viscous substance can be injected into molds for pieces of furniture as if it were made of plastic. It has all the advantages of this material, but without the drawbacks. And last but not least this furniture are recyclable, environmentally friendly alternative and a whole certainly needed in these times.
