Knoll International 100th Celbartion with Eero Saarinen Womb Chair

Knoll International, The premium brand of furniture design, has launched a special edition of the iconic Womb Chair to celebrate the 100 th anniversary of the birth of the famous designer and architect Eero Saarinen. This is a limited edition of 100 Womb chairs upholstered in pure cashmere wool from Loro Piana, a luxury finish to match such a great celebration.

Womb of the 100 seats are upholstered with the best cashmere from Loro Piana, a 100% pure wool sensual touch that comes from the bottom of hircus goats, typical of northern China and Mongolia. Cashmere is the result of a meticulous process in the mills of Loro Piana in Italy, which makes it easier to care without losing the softness and comfort inherent in this material.

In 1948 Florence Knoll, a successful architect dedicated to interior design in New York of the 50s, asked that Saarinen designed for her “a chair that looks like a basket full of pillows something that I can snuggle”. And so was born the delicate and sculptural Womb chair. From then until now thousands of design lovers have been huddled in this iconic chair, produced by Knoll in multiple versions and colors, including children’s formats.
