In 2010, liu xiaobo was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize “for his non-violent battle for human rights”, award that he could not collect in person because he is in prison for “disrespect to the State”. The empty chair, Chair empty, is a tribute to the Chinese intellectual, in reference to the seat which could not occupy in the gala held on October 8, 2010 at the City Hall of Oslo, Norway. Your support is a ladder that points to the sky, five meters high.

The presentation in society of the empty chair has been in the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International, in Pakhuis Zwijger, Amsterdam, and its design will soon be available in the form of a unique PIN.
